Russian Exam Preparation

Targeted preparation for the two key Russian language exams in Azerbaijan: the school-leaving exam (Buraxılış İmtahanı) and the university entrance exam (Qəbul İmtahanı). Expert teachers help you reach the score you need.

Comprehensive coverage of grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension and writing — everything required for both exams — combined with timed practice tests and exam strategy coaching.

  • Buraxılış İmtahanı (school-leaving exam) preparation
  • Qəbul İmtahanı (university entrance exam) preparation
  • Full past-paper practice under timed conditions
  • Grammar and vocabulary consolidation
  • Individual progress tracking

Who this course is for

This course is for people with a specific score to hit. It does not teach general Russian — the work is on exam format, time management and a strategy for each section.

  • School leavers sitting the Buraxılış İmtahanı — pupils in the Russian sector and those taking Russian as a subject.
  • Applicants sitting the Qəbul İmtahanı — when university entry requires a Russian language score.
  • Teenagers who need to consolidate a level — the gap between the school syllabus and the exam format is usually the real problem.
  • Adults — when a level of Russian has to be shown formally for study or work.

The recommended starting level is B1. If you are below it we build the base first on the General Russian course — we settle that at the free placement test. For children there is the Children and Teens programme.

Which exams and what level

  • Buraxılış İmtahanı — the Russian component of the school-leaving exam: grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing.
  • Qəbul İmtahanı — the Russian section of the university entrance exam; the task types and their weighting differ, so the preparation plan is built differently.

The course runs in the B1–C2 range. How long preparation takes depends on the distance between your current level and your target: if only the format is being learned it is measured in weeks; if you need to climb a CEFR level, plan for several months. What the levels mean: A1 to C2 explained and the Russian language guide.

The exam's own dates, registration rules and fee are set by the state exam centre, not by us — check the current terms at the official source.

What a lesson looks like

Preparation covers all four skills — reading, writing, listening, speaking — and each is practised in exam format. Lessons run on the Inlingua method, in Russian.

  • Strategy for each section: recognising task types, allocating time, the usual traps.
  • Full past-paper practice under timed conditions, with the real time limit.
  • Targeted consolidation of grammar and vocabulary: cases, verb aspect, word order.
  • Individual feedback on writing — every piece is analysed against the marking criteria.
  • Individual progress tracking: the time goes where the marks are being lost.

The materials you work with

Inlingua Bern level textbooks are used alongside exam-format practice material:

  • textbooks by level and assessment materials;
  • a bank of exam-format tasks and full practice papers;
  • audio and video resources for the listening section;
  • access to the online learning platform.

There are free PDFs on the site too: a short guide to the cases and the 100 most frequent words — the Russian language guide. On materials: Teaching materials.

Format, schedule and price

Preparation runs as a group, a mini-group or one-to-one, at the centre or online. When the exam date is close, one-to-one gets there faster; the timetable is built around school hours.

Before you start there is a free placement test: we establish your current level and your exam date and build a realistic plan. The price depends on level, format and intensity — message us on WhatsApp and we will send the full price list.

FAQ

What level do I need to start preparation?

The recommended start is B1. Below that, exam strategy does not help, because the problem is the language itself rather than the format — in that case we build the base on the General Russian course first.

Is preparing for Buraxılış the same as preparing for Qəbul?

The underlying skills are the same; the plan is not. The task types and their weighting differ, so preparation is built around the exam you are actually sitting. If you are targeting both, the shared part is covered together and the differences separately.

How long does preparation take?

It depends on the gap between your current level and your target. If the level already fits and only the format is being learned, it is measured in weeks rather than months; if you need to climb a CEFR level, plan for several months.

I still get cases wrong — can that be fixed before the exam?

Yes, and it is a distinct part of the course. Cases settle through using each one in writing and speech rather than memorising a table, and are then checked against exam tasks.

Are the lessons entirely in Russian?

Yes. In the Inlingua method the lesson runs in the target language from the first minute and translation is not used. The teacher grades their language to your level.

How much does the course cost?

The price depends on level, format (group or one-to-one) and intensity. Message us on WhatsApp and we will send the full price list straight away. The placement test is free. The exam's own fee is set by the state exam centre.
