Russian Homework Help
A support service for primary school students being educated in Russian, helping them complete their homework effectively with the guidance of an experienced Russian language teacher.
Our teachers work alongside students to explain assignments, reinforce grammar and vocabulary, and build the confidence to tackle schoolwork independently.
- For primary school students (grades 1–4) taught in Russian
- One-on-one or small group sessions
- Flexible scheduling — after school hours available
- Helps improve grades and build language confidence
Who this programme is for
The programme is for primary school pupils (grades 1–4) taught in Russian. It is not an ordinary language course — the work is on the child's own school assignments, guided by an experienced Russian teacher.
- Families who do not speak Russian at home — the child is in a Russian-medium class and the parent cannot help with the homework. This is the most common case.
- Pupils who recently moved into a Russian-medium school — when the language of instruction changes, the difficulty is the language rather than the subjects.
- Families where homework turns into a fight every evening — handing that work to a calm outsider changes the dynamic.
- Pupils who need to pull their marks up — targeted work on reading comprehension and writing.
If the child needs the language itself built up systematically, see the Children and Teens course — most often the two run together. If the parent wants to learn Russian too: General Russian.
What we work on
The work always starts from the current homework, and then closes the gaps it exposes:
- Understanding the task — very often the child does not misunderstand the topic, but the question itself.
- Reading comprehension — being able to retell what they read in their own words.
- Grammar and vocabulary — following the class syllabus, on the rules the assignment actually raised.
- Writing — dictation, short compositions, short answers; recurring error types are drilled separately.
- Independence — the goal is that the child ends up doing the homework themselves, not that we do it for them.
A practical guide for parents: how to help your child in a Russian-medium school.
What a session looks like
The teacher sits alongside the pupil: explains the assignment, lets the child solve it, and where needed settles the rule in practice following the Inlingua method.
- Every session starts with that week's real assignment.
- The teacher does not hand over the answer — they break the question down until the child finds it.
- Recurring mistakes are logged and closed with separate practice.
- The child is encouraged to speak Russian: explaining the task is speaking practice too.
- Parents know what the child is working on and what has changed.
The materials you work with
The main material is the child's own school textbook and homework — the programme supports the school syllabus rather than replacing it. In addition:
- Inlingua Bern material for consolidating grammar and vocabulary;
- extra reading and writing practice;
- free PDFs — a Cyrillic pronunciation guide, a short guide to the cases and the 100 most frequent words: the Russian language guide.
On materials: Teaching materials. All our Russian programmes: Russian language courses in Baku.
Format, schedule and price
Sessions run one-to-one or in a small group. The schedule is flexible, with after-school hours available, because the work is on the same day's assignment.
Before you start there is a free introductory conversation: we establish the grade, the school syllabus and exactly where the child is stuck. No obligation. The price depends on format and intensity — message us on WhatsApp and we will send the full price list.
Is homework a battle every evening? Send us the child's grade and the subject that is not working — we will work out together where to start.
Chat on WhatsAppFAQ
Is this a language course or tutoring?
It is support for the school syllabus: the work is on the child's own homework, while grammar and vocabulary are consolidated alongside. If the language itself needs building up systematically, there is a separate Children and Teens course for that.
Which school grades is it for?
Grades 1 to 4, for pupils taught in Russian.
When do the sessions take place?
The schedule is flexible and after-school hours are available — which works best, because the session deals with the same day's assignment.
We do not speak Russian at home — can you help?
Yes, and this is the most common case. Alongside helping with the assignment we build the child's confidence in the language. If the parent wants to learn Russian as well, there is the General Russian course for adults.
Is one-to-one or a small group better?
If the gaps are wide or the child is shy, one-to-one gets results faster. A small group draws the child into speaking more. After the introductory conversation we will tell you which fits.
How much does the programme cost?
The price depends on the format (one-to-one or small group) and the number of sessions per week. Message us on WhatsApp and we will send the full price list straight away. The introductory conversation is free.
