The path through the levels: A1 to C2
The first two hurdles are the same for everyone, and both can be cleared. Cyrillic has 33 letters: at 15 minutes a day you read a text by the end of the first week and start writing after about two weeks. Cases — there are six, and they are the main work of the first three months: each case is drilled on its own rather than memorised as a table. - A2 — everyday situations: shops, transport, the doctor.
- B1 — fluent conversation and business correspondence.
- B2 — complex texts and Russian for work.
- C1 — academic and journalistic language.
- C2 — close to native.
Progress and accuracy are tracked throughout, with an assessment at the end of every level. The levelled textbooks are written in Bern and published by Inlingua Bern for network schools only. Russian for children and teens: age groups
- Ages 3–6 — Russian for Ages 3–6: games, songs, rhymes and stories in small classes; the teacher speaks only Russian from the first lesson. No academic pressure; Cyrillic and reading start after age 6.
- Ages 6–10 — the children's programme of Russian for Children & Teens: beginner to intermediate, spontaneous speaking through games, role-plays and short dialogues; reading and writing develop alongside.
- Ages 11–17 — the teen programme: beginner to advanced, all four skills through discussions, debates and work with texts.
- Grades 1–4 in the Russian sector — Russian Homework Help: one-to-one or in a small group, going through the tasks, grammar and vocabulary, and confidence to work independently.
Groups are formed by both age and level, so an eight-year-old does not share a class with a fifteen-year-old. An age table together with English: language courses for kids.

Can I start Russian in Baku from zero?
Yes. General Russian starts at A1, even if you do not recognise the Cyrillic alphabet yet. The first weeks go on reading and pronunciation, then on everyday speaking.
How long does it take to start speaking Russian?
